Based out of Springfield, Illinois and Traveling
Erica. 27 years old. Central Illinois and Travel Filmmaker.
What I love the most in this world right now: film photography, early morning coffee and a crossword puzzle, really really good TV shows, NFL football, cooking, our new Christmas kitten, and advocating for what is right and just.
I'm originally from Dayton, Ohio and am deeply rooted in midwestern value: honest, humble, and good people who live simply and work hard.
I'm married to the greatest guy in the world and we currently live in Springfield, Illinois. We met post-grad volunteering in the hollows of Appalachia in January 2014 and married in June 2019. We love cooking, camping, exploring new cities, board games, and our families.
I try to be a minimalist in as many areas of my life as I can. So even though I'm completely enveloped in a career of beautiful cameras and equipment, I go a different route outside of work. I use film cameras to document my personal life versus my professional cameras or phone. Nothing beats the simplicity and color of film photography.
I've been documenting stories for couples and businesses since 2018 and I hope to do this for the rest of my life. My mom filmed my and my sister's upbringing on a 1980’s, clunky, JVC camcorder. I'll never forget the feeling I had when I watched these videos for the first time. The candid moments captured on those home tapes made me realize how invaluable documenting is and the magic that comes when those moments are shared.
